स्कूलों के ज़रिये आ चुका है ग़ुलाम राष्ट्रवाद

ग़ुलाम राष्ट्रवाद (Slave Nationalism ) कोई भारीभरकम अवधारणा नहीं है। आसानी से समझ में आ सकने वाली बात है। भारत में इस वक्त व्यापक पैमाने पर ग़ुलाम राष्ट्रवाद चल रहा है। राष्ट्रवाद का इस्तमाल कर ग़रीब से लेकर मध्यम वर्ग को ग़ुलाम बनाया जा चुका है। ग़ुलाम वो भी हैं जिनके तन पर कपड़ा नहीं हैं और वो भी हैं जिनके पास ईएमआई पर घर है। दोनों की आर्थिक स्वतंत्रता सीमित कर दी गई है। जब स्कूल और मकान मालिक आपकी आर्थिक स्वतंत्रता सीमित कर दे, तय कर दे तो आप राष्ट्र ध्वज, राष्ट्रगान और राष्ट्रगीत के साये में भी ग़ुलाम हो चुके हैं। इनके साये में गर्व से सीना तो भर जाता है मगर स्कूल में पहुंचते ही सीना के ट्यूब पंचर हो जाता है।

करीब दस साल पहले दक्षिण पश्चिम दिल्ली की मज़दूर बस्तियों में गया था। एक एक मकान में पचासों कमरे बने थे। हर कमरे में दस दस मज़दूर रहे थे। एक कमरे में दुकान भी होती थी जहां से मज़दूरों को राशन का सामान लेना पड़ता था। बाहर की दुकान से सामान ख़रीदने पर जुर्माना देना होता था और कई बार कमरा खाली करना पड़ता था। जिसका मतलब है फिर से कमीशन, फिर से नया किराया। दस साल बाद जब 2015 में गुड़गांव की मज़दूर बस्तियों में गया तो देखा कि यह प्रथा आज भी है बल्कि पहले से कहीं अधिक व्यवस्थित हो चुकी है। मज़दूरों ने अपनी दासता स्वीकार कर ली है। बोरोलिन के ट्यूब से लेकर आटा भी वे बाहर की दुकान से ख़रीद नहीं सकते हैं। बकायदा मकान मालिक हिसाब रखता है कि किस कमरे में कब कब आटा ख़त्म होता है। मकान मालिकों की दुकानों से मज़दूरों को अधिक दाम पर सामान ख़रीदना पड़ता है।

ठीक यही स्थिति प्राइवेट स्कूलों में पढ़ने वाले बच्चों और उनके मां-बाप की है। अच्छे स्कूलों का नाम लेकर मैं लेख को भटकाना नहीं चाहता जबकि कोशिश यही हो रही है। देश में लाखों प्राइवेट स्कूल हैं। चंद प्राइवेट स्कूल ही अच्छा हैं। बाकी लाखों स्कूलों के ज़रिये करोड़ों माता पिता पर आर्थिक ग़ुलामी थोपी जा चुकी है बल्कि अब तो उनकी दूसरी पीढ़ी भी आर्थिक ग़ुलामी में चली गई है। प्राइम टाइम के दौरान जब जनसुनवाई शुरू की तब हज़ारों की संख्या में मुझे ईमेल मिले हैं। इन ईमेल का अध्ययन कई तरीके से किया जा सकता है। इन्हीं मेल के बीच में कुछ मेल होते हैं जो किसी स्कूल के होते हैं। जिन्हें शिकायत है कि मैं सारे प्राइवेट स्कूल को बदनाम कर रहा हूं। शिकायत करने वालों के नाम के आगे मेजर कर्नल लगा होता है। नए पदनाम के रूप में डायरेक्टर लिखा होता है। मैं हैरान हूं कि ऐसे लोग कैसे लाखों स्कूलों में चल रहे घपले का ठेका ले सकते हैं।

मेल में सेना की कड़क भाषा में लिखा है कि मैं अधकचरी बातें फैला रहा हूं। जो सेना को होगा उसकी सहानुभूति लाखों मां-बाप के प्रति होगी या स्कूलों की तरफ होगी। बस उन्हें लगा कि सेना का पदनाम लगा देंगे और डायरेक्टर लिख देंगे तो मैं पलंग के नीचे छिप जाऊंगा। मैं किसी के कपड़े और रूतबे से प्रभावित नहीं होता। ये लोग टीवी पर आकर पूरी बहस को अनुशासन और राष्ट्रवाद की तरफ ले जाना चाहते हैं ताकि अभिभावकों के सवाल किनारे हो जाएं। यह उदाहरण इसलिए दे रहा हूं कि जिन्हें हम समझते हैं कि इनके होते कुछ ग़लत नहीं हो रहा होगा, वो भी जब स्कूलों में आते हैं तो नागरिकों के शोषण का मास्टर बन जाते हैं। स्कूल चाहें नेता चलाते हैं, सेना के पूर्व अधिकारी चलाते हैं, व्यापारी चलाते हैं हिन्दू, मुस्लिम या ईसाई चलाते हैं सब में लूट के तरीके बहुत हैं। कंवेंट स्कूलों में मात्रा कम है।

यह कोई दावा नहीं कर सकता कि लाखों प्राइवेट स्कूल अच्छे ही हैं। इनमें से हज़ारों की संख्या में घटिया भी हैं। पढ़ाई, संचालन और लूट के मामले में भारत के नब्बे प्रतिशत प्राइवेट स्कूल घटिया हैं। ये स्कूल नहीं हैं। नागरिकों को ग़ुलाम बनाने की कार्यशाला हैं। इन स्कूलों में माता पिता की आर्थिक आज़ादी सीमित कर दी गई है। किताब से लेकर अंडरवियर तक ख़रीदने का अधिकार स्कूलों ने ले लिया है। दुकानें तय कर दी गईं हैं। बाज़ार कैसे नागरिकों को गुलाम बनाता है इसे समझने के लिए आप गुड़गांव की मज़दूर बस्तियों और प्राइवेट स्कूलों की मनमानी देख सकते हैं।

स्कूल मजबूर कर रहे हैं कि एक्शन का पांच सौ का जूता न पहनें। सबको एडिडास का 1800 से 2400 का जूता पहनना पड़ेगा। स्कूल कैसे तय करेगा कि आप एडिडास या लोटो का ही जूता पहनेंगे। क्या सादगी से अनुशासन नहीं आता है? सूरत में एक्शन शू का सेल लगा था। एक स्कूल ने डील कर ली कि हमें और छूट मिले तो बड़ी संख्या में जूते ख़रीदेंगे। डील हो गई। स्कूल ने उन्हीं जूतों को अपने परिसर में बाज़ार दर के बराबर के दाम पर बेचा। मुनाफा कमाया। जबकि स्कूल को बताना चाहिए था कि फलाने जगह सेल लगी है, अपना जूता चाहें तो कम दाम पर खरीदें। आप कुछ भी कहिए, यह सरासर आर्थिक ग़ुलामी है। तमाम स्कूलों में महंगे जूते ख़रीदने पर मजबूर किया जा रहा है। वो भी बाज़ार दर से ज़्यादा दाम पर। वही एडिडास, नाइकी आप सेल में कई बार कम दाम पर ख़रीदते हैं मगर स्कूल में इनके जूते बिना किसी छूट के और कई बार ज़्यादा दाम पर ख़रीदने के लिए मजबूर हैं।

मेरे पास भारत के तमाम शहरों और कस्बों से ईमेल आए हैं। मैं कम से कम दो सौ शहरों और कस्बों के नाम गिना सकता हूं। मुंबई के संभ्रांत इलाकों के स्कूलों में पढ़ने वाले बच्चों के मां बाप के ईमेल आए हैं। सभी पर फीस वृद्धि के नाम पर ग़ुलामी थोपी गई है। कई स्कूलों ने नया धंधा निकाला है। वे जर्नल निकालते हैं। अपनी सभी शाखाओं के लिए अनिवार्य कर देते हैं और कहीं पांच सौ तो कहीं एक हज़ार रुपया अनिवार्य रूप से वसूलते हैं। एक परिवार के दो बच्चे हैं तो दोनों से पैसे लेते हैं। एक घर में एक ही चीज़ की दो किताब क्यों आए। अव्वल तो उन पत्रिकाओं में घटिया नैतिक संदेश होते हैं। प्रेरक कहानियों के नाम पर लूट चल रही है। एक स्कूल की प्रिंसिपल ने अंग्रेज़ी ग्रामर की किताब ख़ुद लिखी है। मातापिता को ख़रीदना ही पड़ता है। एक फुटवियर कंपनी है जिसके कई स्कूल हैं। कंपनी के स्कूलों में उसके जूते बाज़ार दर से महंगे दाम पर बिकते हैं। कायदे से तो कम दाम पर बिकने चाहिए।

यहां तक कि बटन टूट जाए तो उसकी भी आज़ादी नहीं है। बटन पर भी स्कूल ने लोगो खुदवा दिये हैं। आपको स्कूल से ही बटन लेने होंगे और भी पचास रुपये के पांच बटन। 50 रुपये का मोजा 100 से 150 रुपये में बेचा जा रहा है। मुरादाबाद के एक स्कूल में सर्दी के दिनों में बच्चों के मोज़े उतरवा लिये गए। उन्होंने स्कूल के ब्रांड वाले मोज़े नहीं ख़रीदे थे। अंत में माता पिता को स्कूल के ब्रांड वाले मोजे ख़रीदने ही पड़े। गुजरात के एक स्कूल ने योगा मैट के लिए 1500 रुपये लिए जबकि बाज़ार में यह 250 तक का आ जाता है। टीवी और राजनीतिक के ज़रिये योग और भोग का जो राष्ट्रवाद थोपा जा रहा वो फ्री नहीं है। उसका समर्थन तो करना ही होगा, उसके लिए अपनी जेब से भी देना होगा और लोग ख़ुशी ख़ुशी दे रहे हैं।

हज़ारों ईमेल का सामाजिक विश्लेषण बताता है कि स्थिति भयावह है। बरमूडा पहनने वाले मम्मी डैडी सिर्फ खान मार्केट में ही इंडिपेंटेंड लगते हैं, स्कूल में पहुंचते ही ग़ुलाम हो जाते हैं। यूनिफार्म के नाम पर जो लूट के तरीके गढ़े गए हैं वो अदभुत हैं। इतनी कल्पना अंग्रेज़ी हुकूमत के पास होती तो तीन चार सौ साल और राज कर जाते। हर क्लास में यूनिफार्म बदल जाता है और हर साल यूनिफार्म का ब्रांड और रंग ताकि सबको नया ख़रीदना पड़े। इन्हीं स्कूलों में पर्यावरण को लेकर प्रतियोगिता का ढोंग होता है। वेस्ट से रिसाइकल करना सीखाया जाता है जबकि स्कूलों के यूनिफार्म और जूते रिसाइकल न हो सके इसका भी इंतज़ाम हो चुका होता है। ज़्यादातर स्कूल कैश में फीस ले रहे हैं। आप कल्पना कीजिए हर तिमाही स्कूलों में दो तीन दिन के भीतर कितने लाख करोड़ का काला धन बन जाता होगा। तभी तो राजनीतिक दलों और मीडिया के लोग स्कूल खोल रहे हैं। स्कूल के भीतर मां बाप को लाओ, अनुशासन का पाठ पढ़ाकर ठगो। राष्ट्रध्वज, राष्ट्रगान और राष्ट्रगीत के नीचे उनकी आर्थिक आज़ादी छीन लो।

एक तरह से करोड़ों मां-बाप आज़ाद भारत के नागरिक हैं। राष्ट्रवादी भी हैं। राष्ट्रवाद के नाम पर गाय ले जा रहे अपने नागरिक को मार दिये जाने का समर्थन भी करते हैं मगर वही राष्ट्रवादी मां-बाप स्कल के भीतर अपनी मर्ज़ी का जूता नहीं ख़रीद सकते हैं। अंडरवियर तक अधिक दाम पर और स्कूल के तय किये गए ब्रांड का ही ख़रीदने के लिए मजबूर हैं। तो मेरी थ्योरी यह है कि राष्ट्रवाद का नारा लगाने वालों को भी ग़ुलाम बनाया जा सकता है। वे भी ग़ुलाम हैं। इसिलए मैंने इन्हें ग़ुलाम राष्ट्रवाद कहा है। इस थ्योरी के अनुसार नागरिक राष्ट्रवादी होते हुए भी ग़ुलाम हो सकता है।

स्कूलों में एडमिशन एक बार नहीं होता है। हर साल होता है। डेवलमपेंट के नाम पर भी मनमानी है। फीस बढ़ते बढ़ते माता-पिता की आर्थिक क्षमता को पार कर जाती है। मैं शोषण के अनगिनत किस्से और तरीके लिख सकता हूं, लेख बहुत लंबा हो जाएगा। छ लोग कहते हैं कि सरकारी स्कूल में क्यों नहीं जाते, यह एक बेहूदा तर्क है। फिर तो इस देश में वो सब कुछ बंद हो जाना चाहिए जो प्राइवेट है। क्या प्राइवेट के नाम पर लूट का वो समर्थन करते हैं और करते हैं तो उनका इंटरेस्ट क्या है। तीन महीने का अडवांस फीस लिया जाता है, दो दिन देर हो जाए तो लेट फीस लेते हैं। अडवांस फीस पर लेट फीस! स्कूल हमारे बच्चों को नागरिक नहीं बल्कि अंग्रेज़ी सीखा कर बकलोल, दब्बू नागरिक बना रहे हैं जो अपनी सारी वीरता सोशल मीडिया पर निकालता है। बच्चों से लेकर मां-बाप की लोकतांत्रिकता को ख़त्म कर चुके हैं।

स्कूलों के भीतर चल रही आर्थिक दासता का सामाजिक मनोवैज्ञानिक और राजनीतिक विशेल्षण होना चाहिए। यहां से निकलने वाले बच्चे और इनके मां बाप की राजनैतिक चिंता कुंद हो जाती है। एक तो बच्चा दब्बू बनकर निकला, फिर उसका बच्चा दब्बू बनने गया। इस तरह से अब कई पीढ़ियां इन प्राइवेट स्कूलों में जाकर अपनी नागरिकता गंवा चुकी हैं। आर्थिक आज़ादी गंवा चुकी हैं। राजनीतिक दलों को मूर्ख राष्ट्रवादी की सप्लाई इन्हीं प्राइवेट स्कूलों के आंगन से हो रही है। मां-बाप को पता है कि स्कूल किस नेता का है। किस सैनिक अधिकारी का है। लेकिन जब वही नेता राजनीतिक दल का टिकट लेकर आता है तो ये मां-बाप उसे वोट देने के लिए झूमने लगते हैं। आप मानें या न मानें ग़ुलामी का ये चक्र अंग्रेजों के दौर की ग़ुलामी से भी भयंकर है। प्राइवेट स्कूलों ने मां बाप का आउटलुक ख़त्म कर दिया है। यहीं से निकली वो पीढ़ी है जो ट्वीटर और फेसबुक पर अपना चेहरा और नाम छिपाती है। फेक आईडी बनाती है। असली नाम से भी बहस करती है तो उसमें तर्कों की तारतम्यता नहीं होती। कुंठा होती है। गाली होती है। ये ग़ुलाम लोग हैं।

मां बाप घर में आल आउट लगाकर सो जाते हैं कि पूरी दुनिया के मच्छर आल आउट से ख़त्म हो गए हैं। करोड़ों घरों में दिन रात आल आउट जलता है, फिर भी मच्छरों का राज कायम है। स्वच्छता के नाम पर विज्ञापन ज्यादा है। आदमी आंख से गंदगी देखता है मगर टीवी पर विज्ञापन देखकर गर्व करता है कि स्वच्छता की बात हो रही है। यह आज के नागरिक का स्तर है। उन्हें समझना होगा कि प्राइवेट स्कूल में जाने भर से बच्चा न्यूटन नहीं बन जाता है। इसका मतलब यह नहीं कि प्राइवेट स्कूल में भेज कर उन्होंने कोई गुनाह किया है जिसकी सज़ा भुगतेंगे।

इन्हीं ग़ुलाम राष्ट्रवादियों के बीच कुछ लोग असली राष्ट्रवादी बन रहे हैं। वे स्कूलों की मनमानी का विरोध कर रहे हैं। अभिभावक संघों के भीतर एक से एक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी हैं जो अपना सब कुछ गंवा कर सरकार और प्राइवेट स्कूलों के नेटवर्क से लड़ रहे हैं। इनका साथ दोनो किसी दल ता नेता नहीं आया है। सरकारें स्कूलों की मनमानी रोकने के लिए दिखावटी कानून बना रही हैं। अभिभावक संघ सारी लड़ाई नहीं जीत पाता मगर अपने दम पर स्कूलों की नाक में दम करने लगा है। अंग्रेज़ों के समय भी कई साल यही बताने में लग गए कि आप ग़ुलाम हैं। आज का नागरिक कहता है कि हम कैसे ग़ुलाम हैं। हमने तो कश्मीर में सेना को खुली छूट देने की वकालत की है, जो सेना पर उंगली उठाए उसके हाथ काटने की बात की है, गाय को राष्ट्रवाद से जोड़ा है, राष्ट्रवाद को हर खाद से जोड़ा है, गाय ले जाते नागरिक को मारने का समर्थन किया है। ठीक बात है। क्या आपने स्कूलों की ग़ुलामी का भी विरोध किया है? नहीं तो आप ग़ुलाम राष्ट्रवादी हैं।

Fascism is coming in India

History bears witness to the fact that when popular agitations, demonstrations and unrest rise above a certain level in a country, and the existing regimes feel threatened that they may be toppled by these, they crush all democratic freedoms and impose fascist rule. The fascist regime of Mussolini, and the demise of the Weimar Republic and advent of Nazi rule in Germany are glaring examples of this.

I believe that some kind of fascism is inevitably coming in India.in a year or two in which democracy, freedom of speech and of the press, and civil liberties will all be totally suppressed.in India.

Consider the facts :

1. The present Indian government came to power on high expectations with the slogan of ' vikas ' or development. This meant, or at least was perceived as, millions of jobs for the youth, industrial growth benefiting businessmen and others, and general prosperity for the public.

2. We are now three years since the new government came to power, but one can see no traces of vikas ( see my articles ' The Shape of Things to come ', ' Vikas ', 'Healthcare in India', ' Malnutrition in India ', 'Unemployment in India;, ' The Trickle Down Theory ', ' The Dream has evaporated ' etc on facebook and my blog justicekatju.blogspot.in ), but only stunts like Swatchata Abhiyaan, Ghar wapasi, Good Governance day, Yoga Day, Demonetization, etc. In these articles I have demonstrated that under the economic policies being pursued by this government ( the trickle down effect ) there is bound to be further economic recession and further unemployment, malnutrition, lack of healthcare, farmers' suicides and poverty, though a handful of big businessmen may benefit. Prices of many essential items like dal have already gone up the roof, and will in all likelihood shoot up higher.

1 crore youth are entering the job market in India every year, but in 2016 only 1.4 lac jobs were created in the organized sector of the Indian economy. Where do the remaining 98.6 lac go ? They become hawkers, street vendors, bouncers, stringers, criminals or suicides.

50% of Indian children are malnourished, and 58% children below 5 are anaemic.

Proper healthcare is almost non existent for our masses, and so quackery is flourishing Lacs of farmers have committed suicide in India, and Tamilnadu farmers are sitting in Jantar Mantar, Delhi with skulls of the suicides, but our leaders are hardly bothered.

3. Consequently this government will become increasingly unpopular day by day, as people, especially the youth, get disillusioned and realize that they were befooled and taken for a ride by our superman who promised a paradise and Shangri-La in India in the name of 'vikas' , but after his accession to power has left people in the lurch.

4. This disillusionment and disenchantment, coupled with the terrible economic hardships and distress the Indian people are facing, with rising prices, rising unemployment, widespread malnutrition, farmers suicides, etc, is bound to lead to widespread and massive popular agitations, disturbances, and turbulence all over the country

5. To deal with these, attempts will first be made, as they have already been made, to do stunts like the anti-Romeo drive in U.P. and to divide the people on communal lines, and blame minorities for the problems, as Jews were blamed by the Nazis. One may recall that fascist regimes came to power in Germany and Italy in the 1920s and 1930s because of massive unemployment and soaring inflation in those countries and the consequent popular agitations.

6. These steps, however, will prove ineffective after a short time as people realize that food and jobs are more important to them than building Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Then harsh measures will be employed by the Government ( kadwi dawa ) to maintain its power, in other words, some kind of Emergency which we witnessed from 1975-1977, in which all civil liberties, freedom of speech and of the press, and all vestiges of democracy will be totally suppressed.

7. What form this fascist rule will take is difficult to predict, but to my mind fascism is inevitably coming in India

U.P. elections and Mahabharat

The U.P. elections appear to me somewhat like the Mahabharat War. In the Mahabharat War there appeared to be only two contestants, the Pandavas and the Kauravas, but there really was a third, Lord Krishna, who was fighting without fighting.

So also, in the U.P. elections there are three contestants, the Akhilesh-Congress alliance, the BJP and the BSP.. I have predicted that victory will go to Akhilesh, who is a Yadav, and therefore a descendant of Lord Krishna, with Arjun ( the Congress ) by his side. Has not the Gita said that victory wlii go where : :

" Yatra Yogeshwarah Krishno, Yatra Partho dhanurdharah " ? ( see the last shloka of the Gita ).

As for the Kauravas, the Bheeshmas, the Dronacharyas, the Karnas, the Kripacharyas, the Ashwatthamas etc, along with the crafty plotters, like Shakuni Mama and Jayadrath, they will all bite the dust. Jai Shri Krishna

Sowing the wind, and reaping the whirlwind

Pakistanis, your misguided and stupid forefathers sowed the seeds of Partition in 1947, and now you are reaping the whirlwind.

A suicide attack in a popular shrine in southern Pakistan has killed at least 72 people, police say. The bomber blew himself up among devotees in the shrine of Sufi saint Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in the town of Sehwan in Sindh province, police said http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-38994318

The real Islam of the Indian sub continent is Sufi Islam, and not Wahabi or Salafi Islam. The sufis taught compassion, tolerance and universal brotherhood ( including brotherhood with non Muslims ), not the bigotry of the Wahabis and Salafis.

In a country like India with such tremendous diversity, only Sufi Islam can be accepted here. Wahabism or Salafism has no place. But once you create a theocratic state like Pakistan, Wahabism and Salafism were bound to grow and spread bigotry and terror.

The only remedy is reunification of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh under a secular govt. which does not tolerate religious bigotry and extremism, and crushes it with an iron hand

Some thoughts on the economy

Both Prof. Noam Chomsky and Prof. Richard Wolff of America are proponents of syndicalism, that is free self controlled workers cooperatives of the kind of the Mondragon Cooperative in Spain.

But the basic defect of such workers cooperatives is that they will only think of their own interest, rather than of the interest of the country as a whole, including the consumers.. Moreover, when a new capital intensive technology appears, they will be face...d with a serious dilemma. Accepting it may throw many workers, and therefore its own members, out of work. Not accepting it would mean that they may become uncompetitive, since other workers cooperatives doing the same kind of manufacture may accept it, and thus be able to reduce its cost of production by laying off some workers and thus saving labour costs. Also, it would impede the advance of technology..

The theory of workers cooperatives, in which the cooperative seeks profits for itself ( and therefore for its members ), suffers from the same defect which Adam Smith's theory of laissez faire suffers. It only replaces the individual industrialist by the cooperative. But the 'invisible hand' behind the cooperative would really mean that industries which are labour intensive gradually become more and more capital intensive ( with the advance of technology ) in search for more profits, by laying off many workers. However, in the process unemployment is generated, and therefore the market shrinks as less and less people have adequate purchasing power ( because the purchasing power of a worker laid off is drastically reduced ). How then will the goods manufactured be sold ? A centralized system of production under a central government enables national planning, and thus a scientific and all round, coordinated progress on all fronts of the economy. Its aim is not just making profits, but raising the standard of living of the people.

The advocates of workers cooperatives are opponents of a centralized economy as they fear that a government running such an economy would become dictatorial and undemocratic. But that need not necessarily be so. If the government comes into the hands of genuinely patriotic, self sacrificing and modern minded people it would lead to rapid all round economic progress and giving a high standard of living to the citizens of such a country
